Bali Bliss: From the beaches of Seminyak to the adventures of the Gili Islands and Komodo
Bali – the “Island of the Gods” – was the last stop on my long journey through Southeast Asia. This island has everything: gorgeous beaches, breathtaking nature, cultural treasures and a unique atmosphere. Every day was a new adventure and I want to share my impressions and experiences with you. From the lively streets of Seminyak to the remote islands of Komodo – Bali has captured my heart.

Seminyak – The perfect place to experience Bali
Seminyak was the starting point of my trip to Bali. The streets are lined with chic boutiques, luxurious hotels and trendy restaurants that immediately captivated me. Seminyak Beach is a beautiful beach that is not only ideal for a relaxing day in the sun, but is also a paradise for surfers. The atmosphere was simply magical, especially near Ku De Ta, an iconic beach club. The view of the sea, coupled with relaxing music and exclusive cocktails, made this moment very special.
Another highlight was a visit to La Plancha, a colorful beach club with loungers right on the beach. Here I could not only see the breathtaking sunset, but also enjoy my drink to the sounds of a live DJ or live band. The relaxed atmosphere and chilled mood are unforgettable. After a day on the beach, I went on to the Malverde Nightclub, which made for an exciting night with its great music and lively atmosphere. A perfect mix of relaxation and partying!
There is a special offer for the ladies: free entry and free drinks (choice of four drinks) all night from 9 p.m. In the evening, the Seminyak food court was the ideal place to discover Balinese cuisine. Here you can find everything from filling noodle dishes to fresh seafood and tropical fruits – all in a lively and sociable atmosphere.

Adventure and nature in Ubud and the surrounding area
I experienced a completely different Bali on my sunrise jeep tour to Mount Batur. Early in the morning we went up the volcano in a jeep to experience the sunrise. The view from the top was simply spectacular and the sight of the black lava stretching across the land was overwhelming. The early start was definitely worth it! If you start from Seminyak you will be picked up at around 2.30 a.m. If you decide to hike up you will be picked up at 1 a.m.
Another highlight was the coffee and tea tasting in Ubud. There you can also try the most expensive coffee in the world, Luwak coffee from the Luwak cat. Ubud, with its picturesque rice terraces, was a real highlight. The Tegallalang rice terraces are world famous and I spent hours walking through the lush green fields and enjoying the beautiful landscape.

Visiting the Goa Rajo waterfall was another moment of peace and beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and refreshing water made me completely relax.Bali’s spiritual side and sacred temples Bali also has a deeply spiritual side. A must-see was the Penataran Agung Lempuyang Temple, better known as the “Gate of Heaven”.
This gate has a fantastic view of the Agung volcano, and the photo with the gate in the foreground is a true classic. Be prepared for long waits if you want a photo. You can sometimes have to wait two to four hours. The Pura Titra Gangga water temple with its beautiful fountains and stone sculptures was another highlight. The entire complex exudes a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere.

Of course, the Sangeh monkey park was a must. I walked through the dense forest, surrounded by free-roaming monkeys that moved naturally in their environment. You can feed the monkeys with peanuts, which you get at the entrance. In my opinion, this monkey park is better than the Secret Monkey Forest in Ubud, where the monkeys are somehow more aggressive, the monkeys in Sangeh are very relaxed and generally the atmosphere is more relaxed.
I also visited the Sari Timbul Art Gallery, where I discovered Balinese art and crafts that impressed me deeply. In the glassblowing workshop next door, you can watch the men at work and also buy a souvenir.

Bali’s Waterfalls and Temples
Bali is known for its stunning waterfalls, and I was able to experience the beauty of the Ulu Petanu Waterfall and Banyumala Twin Waterfalls. Both places are hidden amidst the lush green jungle and offer a stunning backdrop for photos and relaxation.
Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, picturesquely located on Lake Beratan, was another highlight of my trip. This water temple is one of Bali’s most famous landmarks and the scenery there is truly enchanting. You can also rent a pedal boat and take a spin on the lake and admire the landscape from a different angle.

Getting around Bali – scooter taxis or renting a scooter
Getting around in Bali is extremely easy and flexible. The most convenient way to get around is definitely the scooter taxi, which you can book through Grab or Gojek. These two-wheeled taxis are not only cheap, but also fast, and they take you straight to your destination, even through the heavy traffic in the cities. For more flexibility and adventure, you can also rent a scooter to explore the island at your own pace. Renting a scooter costs very little, and you can easily travel between the various temples, beaches and sights whenever you want.

From Bali to the Gili Islands
After all the adventures on Bali, we took private transport from Seminyak to Padang Bai to take a boat from there to the famous Gili Islands. I spent a few days on Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three islands.Gili Trawangan is a little paradise. There I was able to snorkel with sea turtles and saw baby turtles on their first trip into the sea! An unforgettable experience. The snorkeling was indescribable – the colorful corals and the diverse marine life are simply a dream.

On Gili Trawangan I also experienced the famous parties on the island and enjoyed the exciting nightlife. During the day we walked or took a horse-drawn carriage (Gili is car-free!) or cycled through the island to discover the charm of the place. You can rent bikes almost everywhere for around 3 euros a day.
The night market on Gili Trawangan was the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood and local specialties. The sunset on Gili Trawangan was the most beautiful I have ever seen – the colors of the sky and how the sun disappeared into the sea made the moment unforgettable.
Komodo and the adventure on the boat
From Gili Trawangan I took a 4-day Komodo Island boat tour, which was one of the absolute highlights of my trip. The first stop was Kenawa Island, a small island dream that we explored in the turquoise water. Swimming with whale sharks was an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Visiting Komodo Island and meeting the world-famous Komodo dragons was definitely an unforgettable moment. At Pink Beach I admired the play of colors of the pink beach and the turquoise water while enjoying a cold coconut. I snorkeled with baby sharks and hiking on Padar Island offered breathtaking views that were simply wow. The boat tour ended in Labuan Bajo, from where I flew back to Bali.
A lasting souvenir – my tattoo in Bali
At the end of my trip, I got a commemorative tattoo in Bali – together with my best friends. A perfect moment to capture forever the many experiences and adventures I had on this beautiful island.
Conclusion
Bali bliss, the Gili Islands and Komodo gave me a trip full of unforgettable experiences. The variety of landscapes, the spiritual atmosphere, the turquoise water and the fascinating underwater world are simply incomparable. I can only recommend Bali to anyone who is looking for a place where adventure, relaxation and culture blend perfectly together.
