My trip through Beautiful Malaysia: From Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi and the paradise of Redang
After leaving Singapore with all its fascinating contrasts, I took the bus to Malaysia and finally found myself in the vibrant metropolis of Kuala Lumpur. This city is a melting pot of modern skyscrapers and historical sites, and as soon as I stepped into the city I felt the energy it radiates.
Kuala Lumpur – A city of highlights
The first stop in Kuala Lumpur was the famous Jalan Alor night market. This bustling market offered me a colorful mix of Asian street food. The smell of grilled meat, fried delicacies and exotic fruits was in the air. I couldn’t resist trying the many delicacies and enjoyed strolling under the sparkling lights and amidst stalls full of freshly prepared specialties.

Another highlight was Berjaya Times Square, a huge shopping center that surprised me with a small amusement park inside. The rollercoaster ride amidst shops and restaurants was a unique experience! It felt almost surreal to be in this huge building and at the same time feel like you were playing in a small amusement park. Of course, a visit to the Petronas Twin Towers was a must. These iconic towers are the city’s landmark. The view from the observation deck was breathtaking, and the Kuala Lumpur skyline, which turned golden at sunset, will stay in my memory for a long time.
After a relaxing walk through KLCC Park, right in front of the Petronas Towers, I made a detour to the KL Forest Eco Park, a piece of tropical rainforest in the middle of the city. The dense jungle, the hanging bridges and the feeling of being in a green oasis in the middle of a megacity were simply magical.

Genting Highlands – A mountain holiday with a view
My journey then took me to the Genting Highlands, a well-known mountain resort in the central highlands of Malaysia. There, at around 2,000 metres above sea level, I enjoyed the cool mountain air and pleasant climate. The view of the surrounding mountains and valleys was impressive, and I had the opportunity to ride in an amusement park at high altitude – a completely different atmosphere to the city.

From Kuala Lumpur to Redang – The journey to paradise
After exploring Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings, I took the night bus towards Kuala Terengganu, a city on the east coast of Malaysia. From there, I took a taxi to Merang Jetty, the port from which the boats depart for the beautiful island of Redang. The trip in the small boat across the turquoise water was a perfect introduction to what would await me there.

Redang – An island paradise for nature lovers
Redang, a true island paradise, offered me everything a nature lover’s heart could desire. The island is known for its untouched nature, colorful coral reefs and fascinating underwater world. On a snorkeling and diving trip, I had the opportunity to dive into the crystal-clear waters and observe a variety of colorful fish, sea turtles and even baby sharks. The corals were in every color imaginable and I was amazed by the variety of marine life that lived beneath the surface. After a few days on this beautiful island, I returned to Merang Jetty and from there took a taxi to the bus terminal in Kuala Terengganu. From there, I took the bus back to Kuala Lumpur to continue my journey.

From Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi – Another highlight of the trip My next destination was Langkawi, an island known for its stunning nature, beaches and relaxation. From Kuala Lumpur, I took the night bus to Kuala Perlis, from where I took a boat across the sea to Langkawi.

Langkawi – beaches, adventure and pure relaxation
Langkawi was the perfect place to relax after exploring Kuala Lumpur and Redang. Cenang Beach was the ideal place to unwind, enjoy the sunset and bury your feet in the warm sand.
At Cenang Mall I was able to browse for souvenirs and sit down in one of the numerous cafes. A special experience was the massage I treated myself to in a local spa in Langkawi – the perfect balance after all the exploring. The relaxation was exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries. The Kilim Geoforest Park was another highlight of the island. The boat tour through the park offered spectacular views of the mangrove-covered coasts and the crystal-clear water. You could discover caves, a lake between the mountains and watch eagles being fed.
Another highlight in Langkawi is the Seven Wells, a beautiful waterfall known as “Telaga Tujuh” . Here I was able to swim and enjoy the natural waterfall in all its glory. The waterfall has several steps as “stations”, if you want to go all the way to the top I recommend starting early and taking enough water, snacks and mosquito repellent with you.

Cable car and skybridge Langkawi
For the ultimate view of Langkawi I took the cable car up to Gunung Mat Cincang and walked across the impressive skybridge, a winding bridge that offered breathtaking views of the island and the surrounding sea. The bird’s eye view was overwhelming and an unforgettable moment on my trip.
Pure adventure – horse riding trip through the jungle and on the beach
Last but not least I went on a horse riding trip through the jungle of Langkawi and along the picturesque beaches. It was a wonderful way to experience nature, see the island from a different perspective and enjoy the tropical climate.

Conclusion: An unforgettable adventure through Malaysia
My trip through Beautiful Malaysia was a true adventure that took me from the modern streets of Kuala Lumpur to the paradisiacal beaches of Langkawi and the pristine waters of Redang. Each place had its own charm – be it the hustle and bustle of the capital, the tranquility of theislands or the exciting experiences in the theme parks. Malaysia showed me how diverse and fascinating the country is and I can’t wait to come back and discover even more of this wonderful country.
