Traveling through Peru: From Bolivia to Lima
My journey began in La Paz, Bolivia, with the travel company Peru Hop, which offered me the perfect way to continue on to Adventures in Peru from there. It was a great choice as it made the trip so much more convenient and relaxed. The first stop on my Peru adventure trip was Copacabana, a charming town on Lake Titikaka, which is not only known for its breathtaking views, but is also considered the birthplace of the sun for the Incas. Here I was able to visit the mystical Isla del Sol – a magical place full of history and legends.

I then went on to Puno, where I took an unforgettable trip to Lake Titicaca.
The special thing about it was that I had the opportunity to see how the indigenous families still live on the shimmering islands today. There is even the option to spend a night on these islands – an experience that I can highly recommend if you want to experience the life of the indigenous people up close.

From Puno I traveled on to Cusco
The former capital of the Inca Empire. Cusco is a city that exudes an unforgettable charm. Here I made trips to Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake – two fantastic hikes that I can recommend to any adventurous traveler. If you still need equipment for your hikes, there are numerous sports shops in Cusco where you can rent or buy everything you need. And if you are looking for a nice souvenir, you will find it in the markets of Cusco – whether colorful Peruvian sweaters, ponchos or magnets that serve perfectly as a souvenir.

My trip then took me on to Arequipa, the “white city” , known for its architecture made of volcanic stone.
A highlight there was the Plaza de Armas, the most beautiful square in the city. From Arequipa I took a trip to the Colca Canyon, where I was lucky enough to see the majestic Andean condor. Near the canyon is also the Mismi volcano, whose peak is considered the source of the Amazon – a fascinating region with impressive nature.

After Arequipa
I continued on to Huacachina, an oasis in the middle of the desert. On the way, I stopped off at the Nazca Lines, which can also be seen clearly from the observation tower – an interesting experience that is enough if you don’t necessarily want to fly over them in a plane. In Huacachina, I enjoyed an exciting buggy tour through the dunes at sunset and tried sandboarding – an absolute highlight for adrenaline junkies. I also visited a local Pisco winery, where I enjoyed a delicious tasting of the famous Peruvian Pisco.

From Huacachina, I traveled on to Paracas.
There, with a bit of luck, I was able to see sea lions, dolphins and other animals on a canoe tour at sunrise. The Paracas National Park, where the desert meets the sea, is another natural wonder. And if you fancy another adventure, you can visit the Peruvian Galápagos Islands from Paracas – a paradise for nature lovers.

My last stop in Peru was Lima | Adventures in Peru
The capital of the country. On the way there, I made a short stop in Chincha to see the secret slave tunnels – a place full of history and culture. In Lima itself, I visited numerous sights such as the Love Park in Miraflores, the Parque de las Aguas, Kennedy Park and the lively Barranco district. A particular highlight was Cerro San Cristobal – a viewpoint from which you have a breathtaking view of the entire city.
The city also offers a culinary variety that you should definitely try. On a food tour, I was able to enjoy Peruvian cuisine to the fullest. Ceviche, chicha morada, pisco sour and picarones were of course on my list – and they far exceeded my expectations! Another highlight in Lima is the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), which is said to grant a wish if you hold your breath while crossing it.

At the end of my trip through adventures in Peru, a visit to the Plaza de Armas in Lima was a must – a historic square that reflects the history of Peru. My trip was full of adventure, fascinating encounters and unforgettable moments. Peru absolutely amazed me with its nature, history and culture. If you are looking for a trip that is both relaxing and adventurous, Peru is definitely worth a visit.
